“Homebound” juxtaposes the desire to go home and the ambivalent binding of culture/ kinship through the combination of dreamlike landscapes, cultural symbols, and fragments of Vietnamese textbooks. I want to convey the complexity of the immigrant existence in this sentimental, critical, and hopeful body of work.
