"Murmurs and Whispers"

"I have always admired the honest and defiant nature of the sea. It has the ability to be simultaneously vigorous and calm, hazardous yet nurturing. This body of work captures the language of the ocean, freezing a moment in time, giving importance to the transient mark. Each gesture, deliberate and defined embraces the temporary tangible rhythm of its breath. Standing on the shore, looking at the vast restless sea, one begins to negotiate scale synchronously negotiating time and space, and ones place within it."
Adelia Roberts is a multimedia artist working primarily with painting, sculpture and alternative photographic printing processes. She holds a BFA from the State University of New York at New Paltz and an MA from the University of East London. Roberts has exhibited nationally and internationally. She currently resides in Hudson Valley, NY.
